Families Thrive, Inc. is a proud partner of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption® in implementing its Wendy’s Wonderful Kids® program in New York. Through the program, the Foundation establishes innovative co-investment partnerships with states to support the hiring of adoption recruiters who use an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model to find permanent families for the longest-waiting children in foster care.
A rigorous, five-year evaluation by Child Trends revealed that children referred to Wendy’s Wonderful Kids are up to three times more likely to be adopted.
Families Thrive, Inc. currently has one Wendy’s Wonderful Kids® recruiter who serves counties in Upstate New York and the Finger Lakes region. Our recruiter works with smaller caseloads, ensuring that he can provide every child with the time, resources, and support they need and deserve.
